Apple Cider Vinegar

Before I let you know about how amazing Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is I would like to give you a preface to how I became motivated to write today's blog.

After suffering from very poor sleep yesterday I began my day around 6pm. Although I'm trying very hard to stick to a solid diet, sometimes you must improvise. My first meal of the day was a bagel with cream cheese. Later I had chicken wings (spicy to my surprise) with carrots and celery. I went home later and had a large bowl of homemade popcorn followed by the last slice of pumpkin pie that I had in the fridge. I closed my eyes at about 2:30am expecting to sleep. I woke up 30 minutes later in a feverish delusional state with extreme stomach pains. I tried falling back asleep and yet again was woken up by the pain. Immediately I limped down stairs and added 2tsp of Raw Apple Cider Vinegar to about 8oz of water. Within 30 minutes I was no longer drowsy and the pain had been alleviated.

This isn't the first time this product has came to the rescue. A few weeks ago my roommate came home on a lunch break from work and told me how he had been throwing up all morning after food poisoning from his breakfast. He was unaware of the benefits of RACV so I advised him to give it a shot. He sent me a text later that day in astonishment that his symptoms had subsided. In the past I've had stomach illness and every time ACV was there for me to fix the issues.

Here is a look at ACV's contents:
Potassium – to avoid runny nose, hair loss, brittle teeth.
Malic Acid – to fight infections from harmful bacteria and fungus.
Acetic Acid – accounts for the sour taste of vinegar; lowers the blood's pH levels thereby creating an inhospitable intestinal environment for bacterial & fungal infections.
Pectin – facilitates regulation of blood pressure and removal of bad cholesterol.

Besides curing stomach ailments here are a few other benefits from consuming ACV:
-helps maintain and/or restore alkaline acid balance.
-smooths skin texture and tone.
-promotes a healthy immune system.
-helps weight control - consuming ACV before meals speeds up the metabolism.
-additional benefits here.

So in conclusion I hope you learned a great deal from my personal experience with Apple Cider Vinegar. As a precaution though you should know the taste can be quite surprising the first couple of times you use it. Adding honey is recommended for a more subtle approach. I've always just used ACV and water and I'm pretty picky.

You can find ACV at any grocery store, but to get the Organic Raw form I go to my local Trader Joes.
