Apple Cider Vinegar

Before I let you know about how amazing Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is I would like to give you a preface to how I became motivated to write today's blog.

After suffering from very poor sleep yesterday I began my day around 6pm. Although I'm trying very hard to stick to a solid diet, sometimes you must improvise. My first meal of the day was a bagel with cream cheese. Later I had chicken wings (spicy to my surprise) with carrots and celery. I went home later and had a large bowl of homemade popcorn followed by the last slice of pumpkin pie that I had in the fridge. I closed my eyes at about 2:30am expecting to sleep. I woke up 30 minutes later in a feverish delusional state with extreme stomach pains. I tried falling back asleep and yet again was woken up by the pain. Immediately I limped down stairs and added 2tsp of Raw Apple Cider Vinegar to about 8oz of water. Within 30 minutes I was no longer drowsy and the pain had been alleviated.

This isn't the first time this product has came to the rescue. A few weeks ago my roommate came home on a lunch break from work and told me how he had been throwing up all morning after food poisoning from his breakfast. He was unaware of the benefits of RACV so I advised him to give it a shot. He sent me a text later that day in astonishment that his symptoms had subsided. In the past I've had stomach illness and every time ACV was there for me to fix the issues.

Here is a look at ACV's contents:
Potassium – to avoid runny nose, hair loss, brittle teeth.
Malic Acid – to fight infections from harmful bacteria and fungus.
Acetic Acid – accounts for the sour taste of vinegar; lowers the blood's pH levels thereby creating an inhospitable intestinal environment for bacterial & fungal infections.
Pectin – facilitates regulation of blood pressure and removal of bad cholesterol.

Besides curing stomach ailments here are a few other benefits from consuming ACV:
-helps maintain and/or restore alkaline acid balance.
-smooths skin texture and tone.
-promotes a healthy immune system.
-helps weight control - consuming ACV before meals speeds up the metabolism.
-additional benefits here.

So in conclusion I hope you learned a great deal from my personal experience with Apple Cider Vinegar. As a precaution though you should know the taste can be quite surprising the first couple of times you use it. Adding honey is recommended for a more subtle approach. I've always just used ACV and water and I'm pretty picky.

You can find ACV at any grocery store, but to get the Organic Raw form I go to my local Trader Joes.

Perseverance

I want to share an excerpt from this awesome motivational mindset book that I've been reading..

'When I think of successful people, I think of Abraham Lincoln. Most people don't know his story:

He failed business in 1831.
He was defeated in state legislature in 1832.
He tried another business in 1833. It did not succeed.
His beloved fiancee died in 1835.
He had a nervous breakdown in 1836.
In 1843, he ran for Congress and was defeated.
He tried again in 1848 an dwas defeated again.
He tried running for the Senate in 1855. He lost.
The next year he ran for Vice President and lost.
In 1959 he ran for the Senate again and was defeated.
In 1860 he was elected President of the United States and has served as an iconic American hero ever since.

Imagine what his belief structure was. He always went forward. That is an exceedingly powerful key in life---to keep moving forward.'

My Music Is Where I Want You To Touch..

Music is such an essential part of life. For me, nothing is better than the feeling of discovering new and enjoyable music to listen to. I've done my fair share of research in this topic for personal benefit and would like to share what I've discovered. Below is a list of three (free) valuable resources for music which I often use. Enjoy!

Purpose: To somewhat randomly find songs to my liking when I am in particular moods.

Details: This website hosts many free tracks which allows the user to select based on the mood that you are in, or music which would best suite a certain activity. (examples: MOOD - calm, gangsta, high, lonely; ACTIVITY - busy as a bee, cooking time, making love, sunday morning.) I find this site quite useful and with Firefox I'm actually able to rip music from it using the DownloadHelper add-on.

Pandora

Purpose: To listen to a mix from an artist or genre you like, as well as associated similar artists or music within that genre.

Details: Pandora is still free as far as I know. I use it on my iPhone at the gym or stream it from my laptop. Unfortunately you have to listen to 30 second ad clips randomly while listening to a 'station'.

iTunes Radio

Purpose: To listen to live streaming Internet radio stations.

Details: Not many people know about this feature of iTunes. To access, open iTunes then go to 'Library' on the top left hand side of the program followed by the 'Radio' tab. Now you can access whichever genre you are interested in listening to. Two of my particular favorites to listen to are 'dubstep.fm' and 'dubterrain.net'.

Purpose: To download full music albums, movies, television episodes.

Details: This website is a search utility to download torrent files. You will need to download a program to access torrent files such as the one I use 'uTorrent.' You also should note that with using torrents there is a risk that you could download potentially threatening files to your computer and should be cautious.

Purpose: To search and listen to single tracks, or multiple songs from an artist or group.

Details: see above.
